I am not with' autism, I AM autistic.
It DOES define me, let's be realistic.
"You're a person first" is what people say.
It's like they think you can pop autism away.
"Sure, we're all a little bit autistic", are we? Shucks, You've been late for work too because of your socks?
Does every sound and every light source, Hit your senses with an unfiltered force?
If I’m more than a label" then can you explain,
"Bossy, rude, direct, aloof, bit of a pain"?
I choose my identity so don't you see?
I'm an autistic person, it's a fundamental part of ME.
